Program Description

Event Details

Second Saturday Shenanigans is a monthly program offering a place in our community where all kids can gather, free of cost, and have fun together. Each month the program focuses on a new theme.

This month, we're building a scarecrow! Help our library staff put together a scarecrow for the annual  Pendleton Scarecrow Contest. This year's focus is on Southern historical figures, with our scarecrow being modeled after NASA astronaut and physicist Ron McNair. Come learn about Ron's work as an astronaut and why he's an important historical figure, then use the materials provided to make the scarecrow come to life. Then, stop by the Pendleton Square in October to see all the scarecrows!
