Event Details

Join us for the final event in the series inspired by the sculpture on display in the Friends Gallery memorializing five victims of lynching and racial violence in Anderson County as documented by the Anderson Area Remembrance & Reconciliation Initiative.

Dr. Otis Pickett, Clemson University Historian, will discuss: "Redemption in SC? Racial violence, political disenfranchisement, and the backlash to reconstruction in SC". Following this event the sculpture will be de-installed and moved to its next display location in the county.

This program is presented in collaboration with the Pendleton Foundation for Black History & Culture, Pendleton Historic Foundation, and the Pendleton Bookshop.
