Join us on Thursday, August 8th for another interesting discussion about local upstate history!

Josh Johnson, Curator for the Agricultural Museum of South Carolina, will give a historical lecture on the history of Reconstruction in Anderson County as well as many of the myths and legends that have built up around it over time. This lecture will cover topics such as Brown's Raid, Manse Jolly, the Freedmen's Bureau in Anderson as well as Radical Reconstruction and the violence surrounding it. 

Local History Talks is a program happening on the second Thursday's in February, April, June, August, and October. Our guest speakers will discuss interesting local history topics within the Upstate of South Carolina.
