Celebrate Juneteenth with the talented DocRaen in our Makerspace! Discover the history of the holiday and listen to SpokenWord. We'll be celebrating with creative mixed media art projects inspired by the color red, one of the celebration colors of the Juneteenth flag. Let your imagination lead the way while you explore the different creative tools we have in the makerspace.
This is a generational event for attendees of all ages!
Dr. Washington, aka DocRaen, is a lover of books and a mixed media artist! She specializes in Literacies and Children’s Literature. She has taught K-graduate levels in urban and rural settings. DocRaen is a writer and storyteller who is developing a project that combines poetry, short stories and oracy to foster new literacies. Stay tuned! Her motto: I Write and Create because I must. Read because I thirst. And Speak because I can.
