Entries will be judged on creativity, style, and originality.

Summer Reading Art Contest Rules:

What is the theme? The Summer Reading theme is "All Together Now," so entries should represent what the theme means to the creator.

Who can enter: The Fan Art Contest is open to anyone with an Anderson County Library Card.* There are four age categories: Children (0 – 9), Tweens (10 – 13), Teens (14 – 17), and Adults (18 +).

What can be entered? Any style of artwork is accepted, as long as it is your own work and is submitted with a contest form. 2-Dimensional work can be no bigger than 18” x 18” flat, 3-Dimensional work must fit within a cubic foot (12" x 12" x 12"). Please, no entries in frames due to weight. Entries must contain no graphic or adult content or obscene language. Any entry that violates these rules will be disqualified and not displayed. There is a limit of 2 entries per contestant.

When to enter: You can drop off your artwork and entry form at any Anderson County Library location, including the Bookmobile, during regular library hours between May 30 and June 30.

What will happen to my artwork? Artwork submitted will be displayed at your local branch or the Main Library during the month of July. Any artwork may be displayed on the Anderson County Library’s website, www.andersonlibrary.org, or on any of the library’s social media platforms for the duration of the contest and any length of time after.

Can I get my artwork back after the contest? Yes! You may pick up your artwork during the first week of August. All artworks must be picked up by Friday, August 12.

Prizes: 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place will be awarded in each age group. The selection of the winners by the Electric City Creative Makerspace is final. Winners will be announced July 10. Prizes can be picked up at the winner’s home library between July 17 and August 5 during library hours.
