Event Details

Join us for an inspiring morning with former Clemson University and Boston College football player, Richard Yeargin! Richard will share his story of overcoming a major setback in his football career; a critical car crash left Richard unable to play the sport he loved, which resulted in him needing to rethink his entire life trajectory. Come hear this incredible speaker talk about his road to recovery, why the people around him rallied to support him in his time of need, and why this tragic life event led to his work as a mental health advocate.

Richard's story is a testament of how "All Together Now" we can work to break the stigma of mental health and support our fellow humans.

-----

Yeargin is a highly sought-after transformational keynote speaker who uses his life experience and powerful storytelling to inspire his audience. Richard is no stranger to overcoming adversity as he had to overcome being a supreme athlete to enduring a critical car accident that had broken his neck and gave him a concussion. This traumatic event temporarily stripped Richard of his mobility and changed the trajectory of his college football career, but he still found a way to push past the pain and surmount the rigors of obtaining his bachelor's degree. Shortly after, he secured his master’s degree.

Richard used his adversity to propel him, affording him an opportunity to be awarded the Brian Piccolo award, while continuing his football career. This accolade is awarded to an individual who exemplifies courage, loyalty, and a commitment to redefining leadership. Today, he is a thought leader in the sports industry, and a well-respected professor on Clemson University’s campus. Richard is also a career development Coach, public speaker, corporate trainer, and life coach. Richard’s belief is that regardless of the title, the mission is to change lives one encounter at a time.
