Event Details

What is mycoremediation? Mycoremediation is a method that utilizes fungi mycelium (the vegetative part of a fungus) in contaminated soil sites as a remedial treatment.

Mushrooms can save the world!

Lizza from Mushroom Mountain will be here to teach you how to use mushrooms in your own yard to curb erosion as well as utilizing mushrooms to naturally clear out unwanted stumps and wood piles.

You will learn how certain types of mushrooms can be “trained” to colonize and remediate harmful pollutants such as spilled oil and wood soaked in creosote. This program will explore the research in deploying mushrooms to curb such harmful pests as well as touch on the exciting future of mushrooms as antibiotics.

Get excited about the revolutionary fungal frontier!
