Event Details

Join artist Herman Keith Jr. for the local unveiling and opening reception of his sculpture memorializing five Anderson County victims of lynching and racial terror between 1894 -1911. The sculpture will remain on display in the Friends Gallery at Pendleton Library.

Mr. Keith was commissioned after the Anderson Area Remembrance and Reconciliation Initiative worked with the Equal Justice Initiative to document these victims and recount this history.

This exhibit is made possible by and presented in cooperation with the Pendleton Historic Foundation, Pendleton Foundation for Black History & Culture, and the Pendleton Bookshop.
